RESEARCH
I haven't done as much research on any previous project, and in all fairness, Ponyplay needs a good deal more preparation compared to most other sub-genres of BDSM—even though I'm well-versed in plenty of ponyplay stories over the last twenty-or-so-years.
This is a serious subject for me, so I hope you will like the metallic taste of the bit!

Q&A:
Are there any amputations?
No. A pony's arms are tightly folded and injected (medical procedure with needles) and held unusable long-term by steel. Ponies are surgically silenced, with most items welded-shut for good.
Any castrations?
The protagonist remains unharmed but more than one gelding appears and gets shown by the Countess in great detail. It gets insinuated a few times as punishment. Also, two passing pony carts are pulled by geldings, and one mare of the Countess had lost her clit in the past and is intimately explored.
Is it Femdom or Lesdom?
(F/fm) There is one Mistress in charge (bi) with a maid servant as a lover and a pussy-licking pet slave, plus a handful of kinky grooms (all female) who take care of a ponygirl harem, a castrated husband—and the main protagonist—as the fresh stallion.
Consensual or is it an abduction fantasy?
It's a slow-burn, and an escalating gradient. Starting out as consensual with a prearranged safe-sign, it goes over into dubious consent with kidnapping/enslavement roleplay; yet if Tom, the protagonist, is just playing along with the previously arranged non-con scenario, or not, is never quite clear and part of the mindf*ck setting. (It is not a straight-up kidnapping and pony-breaking scenario but has BDSM culture mixed in.)
Are the hoofs on the cover art real?
There is a seam, but they can't be slipped out of again, not by the pony itself. I left the seam out on the cover art to mess with your mind (and mine). There are no magical transformations in the story. It plays in the present and is rather down-to-earth and tries to aim for more realistic BDSM.

This is a really hot story, so long that there's plenty to enjoy even if certain aspects don't float your boat. Lots of great detail and the gradual intensifying of the plot is exquisite.
That said, I have noted that the author doesn't welcome corrections, but it really does still need another proof-read by a mother-tongue speaker, as there are incorrect choices of variants of the past tense all over the place, which just don't quite make sense in their current form, and some repeated incorrect vocab that won't have been picked up by a spellchecker since the words are still real words (but they mean something else).

Was there something you particularly liked or loved, a scene, a character, a chapter?
Once I'll be able to get back to the ponies for part II, I'll take you by your word (or remind me). Currently, I have to illustrate and don't have the luxury to purely write.
Well I can try to remind you if I know at the right time that it's needed!
I mainly enjoyed Tom's experiences himself, wasn't really so interested in the female ponies but of course that's just personal preference.
I was particularly taken by all the invasive inserts - can't stop thinking about the spikes in his sinuses - the removal of his voice and then on top of that the silencing shock collar. And the blackout contacts and the ever tightening arm restraint. Where to go with those? I'd love the looming threat (that should eventually be fulfilled after a long build up!) of totally removing his arms and even his eyes if he does well without them - which he seems to.
Coping with all those things at once, whilst performing pony duties and training too, must be such an intense experience, I'm surprised he doesn't break down more, but I guess to begin with he's just completely overwhelmed. He'll probably start trying his safeword action again, and if it was me, then I'd gratuitously misunderstand it as fidgeting, and then fit him with a movement sensor, so that whenever he isn't supposed to be walking somewhere, eating or otherwise working, he has to stand to attention (or lie still) and any unauthorized movement whatsoever would be punished with multiple shocks (which themselves must be endured without sound or movement - except of course where they directly cause muscle spasms). Perhaps during longer periods of waiting he'd get a five minute break to go and drink water etc but the start and end times of this would be somehow challenging to identify... Finally I'd use similar movement sensors to ensure that when he's walking (not running though) he lifts his knees up high with every single step. The ability of automatic sensors to monitor and enforce behaviour mercilessly and with iron consistency is surprisingly hot!
The things going on in the lower half of his body are vital to the story too, but they seem mainly more standard affairs, and I haven't got any specific ideas for them. I mean, I guess you didn't even ask for any of my ideas at all, but this is where my thoughts go when you ask me about my favourite parts so far!
And of course he needs a team partner, whose arrival he would see but he'd be totally incapable of warning him, and once he was also fully set up as a pony, this would be followed by long periods of motionlessly and silently looking at each other without any way of actually enjoying each others' company in their lonely existence...
He will certainly get a partner and will be trained as a pair with *$)"=!-cens*red. :p
I couldn't talk about it yet as 'causality' was one restriction (everything just happens on a weekend) and secondly, the chosen 'point-of-view narration' only offers his personal POV.
Too sadistic for me. I perfer the The John Willie style of mutual consent at all times.
